VIJAYAWADA: In the suicide case of K Sai Charan, who hanged self from a ceiling fan in Nellore’s Ravindra Bharathi School, the child protection officials of Krishna district have taken the statements of school principal and dean about the incident. The State Commission of Child Protection Rights (SCPCR) will visit the school again to inspect.

Sai Charan, who was staying in the unauthorised hostel being run in the fifth floor of the school building, hanged himself on February 15. Without informing the police and district education officials, the school staff managed to shift the body.

The members of SCPCR, during their inspection on February 17 in the school, observed that the school faculty might have tried to wash their hands off the incident by shifting the deceased as soon as possible. The members also raised doubts over the alleged negligence of school management after they noticed that Sai Charan committed suicide.

The SCPCR will soon issue a notice to the school authorities seeking their explanation.
District Child Protection Officer (DCPO) Ch Vijay Kumar said that the child welfare department is preparing a report and submit it to the district collector. The FIR was already collected and the post-mortem report is awaited.
