Selfie craze: Guntur student falls off moving train to death

A final-year B Pharmacy student died on the spot of grievous head injuries after he fell off a moving train while hanging out of it to take a selfie, near Borra Caves Junction in the Agency on Sunday

VISAKHAPATNAM: A final-year B Pharmacy student died on the spot of grievous head injuries after he fell off a moving train while hanging out of it to take a selfie, near Borra Caves Junction in the Agency on Sunday morning. The deceased has been identified as D Gopi Reddy (22), a native and student of Guntur.

According to sources, Gopi Reddy, along with his four friends, came to Vizag on Saturday for a jolly trip. They boarded the Vizag-Kirandol passenger train on Sunday for Araku Valley.

Sources said Gopi Reddy fell off the moving train when he was trying to take a selfie when the train was passing through the tunnels on the KK line and sustained a grievous head injury. He succumbed to his injuries on the spot. A case has been registered under Section 174 of CrPC.
