Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams darshan to be standardised

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams is considering the standardisation of darshan to do away with separate queues and different systems, aiming to cut short the waiting time.

TIRUPATI: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is considering the standardisation of darshan to do away with separate queues and different systems, aiming to cut short the waiting time. ‘Planned darshan’ is likely to begin in November. TTD Executive Officer Ashok Kumar Singhal said  it was too early to decide the allotting of slots and the number of pilgrims to be allowed darshan of the Lord through the Queue Complex.

Interacting with mediapersons,  he clarified that after scrutinising 185 days’ data each of last year and the year before last, it was decided that 20,000 devotees who reach Tirumala by foot would be allowed divya darshan.“We plan to allocate the slots keeping in mind the most opted darshan type and at the same time ensure that the overall number of pilgrims receiving darshan does not exceed the maximum limit we can accommodate per day for darshan. We do not want the pilgrims to face any hassle,” he said.

He said 20,000 divya darshan tickets, 20,000 seegra darshan tickets and 35,000 sarva darshan tickets are currently being distributed per day. This system will be changed and slots will be alloted such that devotees can plan their time at Tirumala. Singhal said their main objective was to provide darshan under divya darshan and sheegra darshan within 2 hours of queuing.
