Handri water project to turn saviour for Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh

TIRUPATI: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated state-of-the-art junior college building in Gudipalli mandal on Thursday at 3.15 pm. Earlier, he inaugurated a huge government building in the mandal constructed at a cost of Rs 505.4 lakh. Later addressing the gathering, Naidu said that he had chosen the backward area in this mandal as a model village for executing all government schemes.

“This new college has digital classrooms, laboratories and several modern facilities on par with international standards, so people of this mandal can utilise the facilities,” Naidu said. The yoga teacher told the Chief Minister that all 105 schools conduct yoga classes daily for the physical and mental well-being of the students. BiPC second year student Sonia and Junior MPC student Pallavi interacted with the CM.

People of Gudipalli and Kuppam are very hardworking, the Chief Minister said. He said that because of poor water sources here, plans are on to bring water through 615-km long Handri-Neeva to raise horticulture crops. The 109-km long Kuppam Canal is part of Handri Neeva Sujala Sravanti (HNSS) and we spent Rs 420 crore to arrest migration and drought condition in the district, he said.

Naidu said that within one year, his government was able to link two major rivers - Krishna and Godavari, and start Pattiseema works for the benefit of Delta areas. “In Chittoor district, the government is focussing on increasing number of farm ponds and ration quota. Out of 63,000 families, 29,386 families are getting pensions. Construction of toilets, concrete cement roads, 12 lakh houses, Anganwadi buildings, playgrounds, schools, colleges, and distribution of cycles for girls are the development works taken up by the government. I also promise to bring best colleges in the world to the State,” Naidu said. 
The Chief Minister said that NTR Sujala Sravanthi scheme works will be completed soon.

CM lays stone for L8.88 crore
Conducting ‘Rachabanda’ in Sonnara-sanapalli on Thursday, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated development works worth R8.88 crore. Nearly 51 villages in Gudipalli mandal will be supplied drinking water. Foundation stones for 112 houses worth R1.68 crore under NTR Housing and R55 lakh worth houses in Chandranna Labour colony were laid.
