Ministers give a patient hearing to Dalits’ woes
ELURU: Dalits of Christianpeta in Garagaparru village, who were boycotted socially by upper caste people, shed tears in front of the ministers and the SC Corporation Chairman by stating that they have no work to eke out a living. Ministers N Anand Babu, P Satyanarayana and KS Jawahar along with SC Corporation Chairman J Prabhakar Rao and MLA Vetukuri Siva Rama Raju visited Garagaparru on Monday. They first interacted with the Dalits. The Dalits told them that they have not received any aid from the government except 5 kg rice.
After listening to the Dalits’ woes, the ministers stated that the incident was very saddening. “The State government will extend all aid to you. All the Dalit victims will get pucca houses. Basic amenities in the colony will also be developed,” they said.
