Cleanliness drive at Godavari ghats

ONGC Rajahmundry Asset took up cleaning of Godavari ghats in the city on Friday as part of its Swachh initiatives.

RAJAMAHENDRAVARAM: ONGC Rajahmundry Asset took up cleaning of Godavari ghats in the city on Friday as part of its Swachh initiatives. Using its high-powered motor pumps mounted on a barge, it took up cleaning of the river at Pushkar Ghat. The initiative taken up as part of Swachhta Pakhwada, will be continued for two to three days.

The National Disaster Response Force and SPF were also roped in. District Collector Kartikeya Mishra, RMC Commissioner V Vijayarama Raju, Mayor Pantham Rajani Sesha Sai, MLC Adireddy Apparao and Rajahmundry Asset Manager DMR Sekhar witnessed the demonstration of the pumps at Pushkar Ghat.

At Happy Sunday venue near Pushkar Ghat, ONGC Kendriya Vidyalaya students  performed skits and dances on Swachh Bharat. About 2,000 saplings were distributed to people free of cost to promote greenery in the city.
