VISAKHAPATNAM: Even as the public hearing on the allegations over land grab scheduled on Thursday has been cancelled after the government decided to form ‘Special Investigation Team (SIT) to people into the issue, people from across the district, in droves, are coming to the collectorate to submit their grievances.

Officials say that as many as 168 applications from 26 mandals in the district have been received of which only two are from Kommadi and Kaapuluppada village limits. Rest of the submissions are individual grievances and border disputes.

Joint collector (JC) G Srijana, who received the submissions, asked the officials concerned to sort them out and launch investigation immediately.  “Most of the applications received on Thursday belonged to general grievances. We will expedite action on them on priority basis. They are not connected with the land grabbing or tampering of revenue records,” said G Srijana.
