One dies as car collides with lorry 


One person died and three others were seriously injured when a car collided with a lorry at Sriparru village in Eluru rural mandal on Saturday.

ELURU: One person died and three others were seriously injured when a car collided with a lorry at Sriparru village in Eluru rural mandal on Saturday.

According to police, Penmetsa Ashok Varma (26), an aquaculturist of Kaikaluru, along with his friends Uppala Srikanth, Harigopal and Maturu Venkatesh, attended a marriage at Gudivada. The mishap occurred while they were returning to Kaikaluru in the ill-fated car. 


Ashok Varma died on the spot in the incident. The injured were admitted to Eluru government hospital. The body was shifted to government hospital for postmortem. Eluru rural police registered a case.
