VISAKHAPATNAM : Mystery shrouds the death of a 20-year-old girl who was found dead with froth coming out from mouth at her boy friend’s house at Kadapalem in Pudimadaka panchayat in Atchutapuram police station limits on Monday. The parents of the girl alleged that the family members of her boyfriend with whom she had eloped had killed her.

The deceased, identified as M Dhanalakshmi, was a resident of Pudimadaka. According to Atchutapuram sub-inspector Dheenabandhu, on Sunday at around 1 pm, the girl’s boyfriend U Kasubabu (20) found her lying dead on the floor with froth coming out from the mouth and nose. The neighbours, thinking it as a case of suicide,  informed police which shifted the body to hospital for post-mortem.
The SI said that Dhanalakshmi and Kasubabu eloped a month ago and returned home after five or six days. Since then, the duo had been in the boy’s house at Pudimadaka.

However, the girl’s parents have not been talking to her. After the incident, parents of the girl alleged that the boy’s parents were unhappy that their son had eloped. “They expected some dowry and killed Dhanalakshmi by giving poison,” the parents said. Relatives of the girl also alleged that Kasubabu’s involvement in the case, suspecting that he got bored of Dhanalakshmi.

However, the SI said that with the complaint from the girl’s parents, they had registered a dowry death case. “Only further investigation can ascertain whether the girl committed suicide or it is a case of murder. The postmortem reports are awaited,” the SI said. Further investigation is on.
