VIZIANAGARAM : The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths trapped Jiyyannavalasa tahsildar Kolli Venkata Raman when he was accepting a bribe of `10,000 from a person for rectification of a survey number wrongly entered in the land records, at Pravatipuram on Wednesday.
ACB DSP Sheik Shakila Bhanu said that Satyanarayana, an employee of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) bought a 5.62-acre land in Jiyyannavalasa mandal in 2005. After finding that the survey number entered in the land records was wrong, he approached Kolli Venkata Raman.
The tahsildar demanded `15,000 for rectifying the land records, before deal was struck at `10,000. With Satyanarayana approaching the ACB officials, the latter laid a trap and caught tahsildar while accepting the bribe amount at his house on Wednesday morning.
