VIJAYAWADA: The Anti Corruption Bureau arrested three officials while they were accepting bribe in separate incidents in the State on Thursday.

According to ACB officials,  Assistant Engineer of APSPDCL, Puttaparthy of Ananthapuram district; sub inspector of  Rompicherla police station in Guntur district and a Village Revenue Officer (VRO) of Jonnada village in East Godavari district were caught red-handed in the traps laid by it on Thursday.

In Ananthapuram district, Assistant Engineer of APSPDCL Janardhana Naidu was caught while accepting bribe of Rs 90,000 at his office in Puttaparthy from a complainant, C Rama Devi. The engineer had demanded bribe from her for providing three agricultural service connections to her fields.

In another case, sub-inspector of Rompicherla police station in Guntur district Sd Shammerbasha was trapped at his chambers in the police station while accepting bribe of Rs 25,000 from complainant Sai Krishna through a private typist,  Joseph, for deleting names of A2 and A5 in a charge sheet of a dowry harassment case.

A Village Revenue Officer (VRO) of Jonnada village in Alamuru mandal in East Godavari District P Babu Rao was trapped at Jonnada - Alamuru road while he was accepting bribe of Rs 5,000 from a complainant for doing corrections in the adangal records. 

All the three officials were remanded.
