'Best student' from Andhra Pradesh killed a day before receiving award in US

If everything went well, seven-year-old Narra Anish Sai was supposed to receive his Best Student Award.

VIJAYAWADA: If everything went well, seven-year-old Narra Anish Sai, son of Narra Sasikala and Hanumantha Rao, was supposed to receive his Best Student Award at the school function scheduled on Friday (American Standard Time) in Burlington, New Jersey in USA. Instead, the school mourned for this talented kid who was murdered at his home, minutes after he returned from school on Thursday evening.

Sasikala called up her parents S Venkateswara Rao and Krishna Kumari on Thursday evening (Indian Standard Time), who are residing in Lakshmipuram colony in Poranki in the city outskirts, and informed that her son Anish Sai was selected for the award.  She had also informed her parents that she would go to the school on Friday to witness award presentation ceremony. But within 12 hours, the grand parents received a message from their son-in-law Hanumantha Rao that Sasikala and Anish found dead in a pool of blood at home when he returned from office.

"He was a very talented child and my daughter wanted to make him pursue medicine in the US. Despite her differences with her husband, Sasikala had high hopes for her only child," said Sasikala's parents in Vijayawada.

They alleged that their son-in-law killed Sasikala and grandson Anish to continue his illegal affair with another woman in US.

The relationship between Sasikala and Hanumantha Rao was on the rocks for the past four years. On several occasions, Sasikala had informed her parents about Hanumantha Rao's affair with his female colleague at his office. The couple had heated arguments over the issue and Hanumantha Rao had even sought divorce from his wife.

According to Krishna Kumari, her daughter had found some romantic messages in her husband's phone and confronted him. However, Hanumantha Rao pacified his wife asking her not to take the funny conversation at office seriously. Later, Sasikala received messages in her phone saying that her husband has an affair with this lady. But Hanumantha Rao kept evading her queries,  which led to heated arguments between the couple on several occasions. Sasikala reportedly informed Hanumantha Rao's illegal relationship to her parents and her mother-in-law.

Money angle

However, the relationship hit a new low after Sasikala found that her husband had withdrawn Rs 80 lakh from the joint account from a bank and gave it to his parents without her knowledge.

"As she was already disturbed with her husband's illegal affair, Sasikala opened a separate bank account and ever since, Hanumantha Rao started demanding money from her," alleged Venkateswara Rao. He said that though they have asked her to return to India along with Anish, she refused as she wanted to make her son a doctor in the US and it was her dream to purchase a house in US.

"Sasikala was a disciplined gill. She completed her degree in Vijayawada and MCA in Chennai. She was always cheerful and her daily life was very systematic. But, in the past four years, she suffered a lot due to her husband. She had also informed her mother over telephone that Hanumantha Rao beaten her recently," said Sasikala's relatives.

She had met her parents and relatives back in 2012, when she came to India on some office work in  Chennai.

As the family life of their daughter was disturbed, Venkateswara Rao and Krishna Kumari were planning to go to the US in May this year and have obtained passport to go the US to convince their son-in-law. Now, the couple are making all efforts to bring the bodies of Sasikala and her son to their home. They are also planning to approach advocates to file a case against Hanumantha Rao.
