Andhra University launches e-payment fee portal

VISAKHAPATNAM: The Andhra University launched online fee payment system, enabling the students to pay their admission, examination and certificates fee online.

At present, the facility is available only for the science college students and it will be extended to all other students too, AU vice-chancellor G Nageswar Rao said after inaugurating the new e-payment fee portal on Monday.

Students of all the departments and colleges of the AU can pay their exam fee through the e-payment system by entering their registration number in the portal.

All modes of electronic payments have been incorporated in the system like credit/debit cards and net banking. TPS, SBI and ICICI are the three gateways connected to this system. Very soon, AU computer centre officials will also implement online payment mode for the CDC from various affiliated colleges.

“For all the affiliated college students, we are going to develop a software which will be available by the June-end,” K Venkata Rao, the director of AU computer centre said.

Dynamic website
As the University has more than two or three websites, the students and research scholars are getting confused. In view of this, the computer centre experts are designing a dynamic website and it will be launched very soon. On the decreasing attendance of the students, AU authorities will implement bio-metric attendance system for daily attendance.

“Of late, the students are bunking classes. Even the attendance in practicals and re-orientation classes is very poor. We have asked the university staff to create awareness among students on the new technologies,” AU officials said.
