KAKINADA : The development works for Kakinada Beach Festival are moving at a brisk pace. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will inaugurate the festival on January 19. Playback singer SP Balasubrahmanyam will enthral the audience with his timeless classics on January 19 and renowned musician AR Rehman will give a live performance on January 21.

District Collector Kartikeya Mishra, AP Tourism Development Regional Director G Bheema Sankar Rao and Rural MLA Pilli Anantha Lakshmi have been monitoring the arrangements from time to time. The annual festival is being organised since 2012. The arrangements for the festival are being looked after by Wizcraft International Entertainment Pvt Ltd.

District Collector Kartikeya Mishra and APTDC MD Himanshu Shukla inspected the landscape works being taken up at a cost of `2 crore and the permanent dais is being erected on the beach.
The Collector said that a sum of `45 crore was allocated to for the beach festival. He directed the contractors not to compromise on quality in development works.He said that all steps are being taken to organise the beach festival on a grand scale.“The State government is keen on promoting tourism and our East Godavari district has vast potential,” he added.

This is the fifth consecutive edition of the annual festival, which is going to be a blend of tradition and fashion
A permanent dais suitable for traditional dance performances, music shows and theatrical events is getting readied at the venue along with green rooms for the performing artistes
