‘Will launch stir if December 6 deadline is not met’

Kapu leader and former Minister Mudragada Padmanabham has set December 6 as deadline for the State government to settle the long-pending reservation issue.

ELURU: Kapu leader and former Minister Mudragada Padmanabham has set December 6 as deadline for the State government to settle the long-pending reservation issue. He participated in the Kapu Vana Samaradhana programme at Penumanchili village in Achanta mandal. Areti Prakash presided over the event. Speaking on the occasion, Mudragada said he would take up the agitation again if the government failed to meet the deadline.

Sounding a warning to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, he said: “We will not rest till our demands are met. We will not sleep and will not allow the Chief Minister to sleep. There is no going back.” “December 6 is the death anniversary of B R Ambedkar.

That is why we have chosen that date as the deadline. We are not seeking anything out of the way. We are only asking the Chief Minister to keep his election promise of including the Kapus in the list of BCs,” he said. Naidu had promised during his padayatra and later in his election campaigns that he would include the Kapus in the list of BCs within six months of coming to power.
