KURNOOL: Following heavy rains, the floodwaters breached several causeways, snapping road links in more than 20 places in the district on Monday.    Nearly 30 villages in Banaganapalle, Owk, Kolimigundla, Alur, Sanjamala and Pathikonda mandals were waterlogged. Drains and roads were flooded with rain water in several towns.

Vehicular movement was affected and normal life was thrown out of gear due to the steady drizzling at several places in these mandals throughout the day. Many electric poles and trees got uprooted across the district. Kolimigundla mandal recorded the highest rainfall of 35.2 mm in the past 24 hours. Holiday was declared for the government elementary school at Gundla Singavaram village in Owk mandal. Jerreru vagu in Kolimigundla and Banaganapalle mandals overflowed after 10 years.
The inundated villages included Petnikota, Kalulatala, Gorvimanupalle and Alur.
