Four die in road mishap on Srikalahasti-Tirupati road

A speeding lorry collided head-on with the car resulted in the death of four commuters travelling towards Tirupati from Srikalahasti.

TIRUPATI: Four pilgrims died in a ghastly road mishap on Srikalahasti-Tirupati road in front of Lanco Ferrus Factory in Chatterjee Nagar on Friday evening.

A speeding lorry collided head-on with the car resulted in the death of four commuters travelling towards Tirupati from Srikalahasti.

Impact of the collision was such that the car flipped over several times and fell in the roadside fields.

Four people traveling in the car had died.

One of the deceased in the accident has been identified as Sundara Murthy, a resident of

Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu. The identity of the rest is yet to be ascertained.

Srikalahasti police rushed to the spot on being alerted of the mishap.

The victims’ bodies are being removed from the wreckage and will be shifted to Srikalahasti area for postmortem.
