VISAKHAPATNAM: Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Dasari Ravi Babi accused of killing rowdy sheeter Gedel Raju surrendered in Chodyaram police station on Friday. He will be brought to Visakhapatnam and will be produced before the court later in the day.
However, Ravi Babu has claimed that he is innocent and will prove it in the court.
A former Assistant Commissioner of Police (Madhurawada) in Visakhapatnam City, Ravi Babi was transferred to Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) vigilance department as DSP after he allegedly murdered Gedela Raju, a rowdy sheeter who was on the run for past two weeks.
On October 6, the charred body of the rowdy sheeter was found at Sabbavaram in Visakhapatnam and Babi was made the prime accused. It was alleged that Babi plotted the murder of Raju to escape from another murder of a woman, with whom he had an extra-marital affair.
