GUNTUR: Vijayawada Municipal Corporation Commissioner J Nivas visited the compost unit set up at Gandhi Park in Guntur on Saturday. Smart Waste Management Solutions Managing Director Ch Harendra said 50 per cent of waste produced in a house is compostable organic waste. He also a gave a PowerPoint presentation to the VMC chief. He hailed the efforts of sanitary staff in keeping Guntur city clean and green by collecting vegetable waste from the houses of denizens and markets. The VMC chief accompanied by Additional Commissioner K Ramachandra Reddy, EE Venkateswara Rao, DE Prabhakar Reddy and other officials inspected push carts.
