VIJAYAWADA: In a bid to improve inter-city services across the State, Andhra Pradesh Tourism has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Zoomcar to boost transportation services and create employment opportunities.The agreement was signed and the first exclusive batch of the co-branded Zoomcar and Andhra Pradesh Tourism cars were flagged-off by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Tourism secretary Mukesh Kumar Meena, AP Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) managing director Himanshu Shukla along with Greg Moran, CEO and Co-founder of Zoomcar at the MoU signing ceremony held at Amaravati on Friday. On the occasion, Naidu also launched ‘Hop’, Zoomcar’s one way intercity rental service in Andhra Pradesh during the event.


Speaking on the occasion, Mukesh Kumar Meena said, “Our vision is to make Andhra Pradesh a leading tourist hub by providing all the possible services and amenities to the tourists visiting our State. In this regard, we are betting heavily on technology and unique concepts across sectors. Partnering with companies like Zoomcar, that has numerous unique offers, is in keeping with this vision.”

Zoomcar is the first company in India to focus on self-drive car rentals and is currently present in 25 cities across the country. Zoomcar has a fleet of 3,000 cars in the country. This will be a comprehensive long-term partnership with the objective of adding 1,000 Cars in the self-drive segment and create 1000+ new jobs in the State over the next 3 years.
