Physically challenged farmer commits suicide in Andhra Pradesh after losing crop

MACHILIPATNAM: A 38-year-old debt-ridden physically challenged farmer has allegedly committed suicide at a village in Krishna district, police said today.

P Narayana Rao killed himself by consuming pesticide yesterday at his agriculture field in North Siruvolulunka village of Mopidevi mandal, nearly 25 km from here, as he was distraught over crop loss, Avanigadda police station sub-inspector Nagendram said.

Rao is survived by wife and three children.

A case has been registered with the Avanigadda police and further investigation was on, the officer said.
