Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has directed the officials of Agriculture and Horticulture Departments to adopt best practices and technologies in the world to ensure more income to farmers.

VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has directed the officials of Agriculture and Horticulture Departments to adopt best practices and technologies in the world to ensure more income to farmers.

At a meeting with Agriculture Minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, Marketing Minister C Adinarayana Reddy and officials of Agriculture and Horticulture departments at the Interim Government Complex in Velagapudi on Saturday, the Chief Minister underscored the need for setting up a cold storage chain and providing marketing facilities to farmers.

He wanted the officials to take steps for getting quality and high yield of crops. He directed the officials to concentrate on the best storage and processing facilities for crops like tomato.

Asserting that his government is putting in a lot of efforts on increasing the acreage of horticulture crops, he suggested to the officials to appoint successful horticulture farmers as consultants to make use of their experience.
