GUNTUR: Guntur Municipal Corporation Commissioner Srikesh B Lathkar has expressed his displeasure with the engineering officials of the civic body for not giving water connections to households at Anandpet area and directed them to do the same.
The commissioner was inspecting water pipeline, road widening and drain works at Anandpet, Sangadigunta and Lanchestar road in Guntur. He observed that the pipeline laying works was completed at Anandpet, but engineering officials did not provide tap connections to households. He further instructed them to fill the potholes that were dug to lay new pipelines after the outbreak of diarrhoea cases in Guntur.
The commissioner also visited the Nallacheruvu reservoir, inquired about the water-level and tested the chlorination process here. He asked the officials to send water tankers to the region where provisions for water supply through pipelines was not available. He asked them to take up repair works at the reservoir.
