Andhra Pradesh: TDP MPs to move no-trust motion against Centre in Parliament

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said the strength of the saffron party has come down in the by-elections and it is depending on the support of the friendly parties.

VIJAYAWADA: Deciding to intensify stir against the Centre to achieve the rights of the State, the TDP MPs are set to move the no-confidence motion against the BJP-led NDA government in the ensuing monsoon session of the Parliament. The MPs were instructed to garner the support of MPs of other parties from Friday itself.

Chief Minister and TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu during a meeting with the party MPs at his residence in Undavalli near here on Thursday evening, directed them to seek the support of all political parties except the BJP and Congress on the injustice meted out to AP. He also informed them that he will personally make phone calls to leaders of Opposition parties and will seek their support.

Stating that five crore people of AP pinned lot of hopes on the TDP MPs, he wanted them to fight accordingly in the Parliament. “In case of not getting any justice in Parliament, we will wage a legal battle once the session is culminated,” he informed.

The Chief Minister said the strength of the saffron party has come down in the by-elections and it is depending on the support of the friendly parties.

Instructing the MPs to highlight the injustice meted out to the State, Naidu wanted to publish a book on the injustice done to the State and to distribute them among people.

Emerging out of the meeting, former Union Minister and TDP Rajya Sabha MP YS Chowdary said they will confront the Centre in the Parliament on the issues related to the AP Reorganisation Act.

Stating that the YSRC MPs resigned to protect the BJP government at the Centre as per the internal pact, he said the TDP will vote against the BJP in the Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman election.
