RAJAMAHENDRAVARAM: Gone are the days when parents queued up before corporate schools seeking admission for their wards. With civic schools raising their bar to offer quality education, the strength of students in these schools has been increasing for the past two years. The pass percentage and grades obtained by SSC students of these schools speak for themselves.

Municipal and Municipal Corporation schools in East Godavari district are also offering special coaching classes for IIT and other courses.

Apart from offering English medium instruction for Classes 6 to 10, these schools have highly qualified teachers.

Besides, the basic infrastructural facilities like toilets, drinking water,  laboratories and playgrounds have also been improved. In addition to studies, extra curricular activities like painting and craft work are also being taught to the students at municipal schools.

The school authorities are conducting special classes. According to the municipal authorities, 43 civic school students obtained 10/10 GPA in 2017-18.  Naga Raju, Regional Joint Director, Municipal Administration, Rajamahendravram, said: “We are taking special care for all students by conducting special classes.  As per the instructions of the higher authorities, we are providing expert guidance to students.”
