Three held for cheating jobless youth, Rs 19.5 lakh recovered in Guntur of Andhra Pradesh

GUNTUR: The Tenali police arrested three persons, who collected `19.5 lakh from an unemployed youth assuring him job. The gang of five persons offered fake appointment letter to the victim giving him job in the Secretariat of AP.

Addressing a press conference at Tenali in Guntur district on Friday, DSP M Snehita said the accused Sk Khadar Ali Basha of Bucchireddypalem of Nellore district, Mallela Radhakrishna of Dilshuk Nagar of Hyderabad and Manepalli Appala Raju of Borabanda of Hyderabad deceived him by assuring job in the Secretariat of AP.

The gang handed over a fake appointment letter of Junior Assistant post in the Revenue department at Secretariat to Valluru John. The gang asked the victim to deposit cash in various banks and collected some amount by hand. The victim, who belongs to Hoffpet in Tenali mandal, lodged a complaint stating that a gang of five persons had deceived him by assuring him job in the Secretariat and submitted a fake appointment letter to the police as proof.

The police started investigation and found that they received `19.5 lakh from the victim and recovered `10.5 lakh from the accused. The police arrested three persons in the case and are searching for the remaining two accused.
