TDP serves notices to move no-trust motion against NDA Government

VIJAYAWADA: Firm on confronting the Centre on the alleged raw deal meted out to the State by denying special category status and non-implementation of the AP Reorganisation Act, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is all set to move a no-confidence motion in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, the first day of the monsoon session of Parliament.
TDP floor leader in the Lok Sabha and Kakinada MP Thota Narasimham on Tuesday served a notice to Lok Sabha Secretary General Snehlata Shrivastava to move the no-confidence motion in the House on Wednesday.

Continuing their efforts to garner the support of the non-BJP and non-Congress parties, the TDP MPs including Galla Jayadev, Garikapati Mohan Rao and Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar,  on Tuesday called on RJD chief Lalu Prasad in Patna. The MPs claimed that Prasad assured to extend his party’s support to the motion.

Meanwhile, Vijayawada MP Kesineni Srinivas (Nani) also served a notice to the Lok Sabha Secretary General to move the no-confidence motion. “We will handover the notice containing signatures of 150 MPs in favour of the motion. If the Speaker refuses to take up the motion for debate, we will stall the proceedings of the House,” he warned.

Meanwhile, BJP MP GVL Narasimha Rao in New Delhi said his party would expose the ‘dramas’ of the yellow brigade. The BJP is ready for debate on any issues, including no-trust motion,  in Parliament, he said.
