Andhra Pradesh: Two constables receive public service awards

The DGP office here announced Impressive Public Services (IPS) awards for two police constables for averting the suicide bid of a youth in Narasaraopet.

GUNTUR: The DGP office here announced Impressive Public Services (IPS) awards for two police constables for averting the suicide bid of a youth in Narasaraopet. They received the awards from AP DGP M Malakondaiah on Tuesday. Guntur Rural SP C H V Appala Naidu said that the police constables D Veeranjaneyulu and K Peter Raju were patrolling at Narasaraopeta on the night of April 20 when they observed the 22-year-old youth trying to commit suicide on the railway track near the flyover of Narasaraopeta. The constables immediately reached the spot and stopped him.
