Woman injured in another bear attack

 A 50-year-old woman, Boddu Gangamma, was injured in bear attack at Nalla Bodduru village of Mandasa mandal on Thursday while she was picking sticks in the coconut garden.

SRIKAKULAM: A 50-year-old woman, Boddu Gangamma, was injured in bear attack at Nalla Bodduru village of Mandasa mandal on Thursday while she was picking sticks in the coconut garden at the backyard of a house. Ten days after a couple was killed and seven severely injured in the bear attack at Yerramukkam village of Sompeta mandal, the Thursday incident also took place near Yerramukkam village. With a series of bear attacks, people of Nalla Bodduru, Yerramukkam and neighbouring villages are in the grip of fear.

According to a village source, the bear, which was said to be searching for water jumped on the victim while the woman was picking up sticks for cooking at backyard of the house of a coconut garden. 
When she started shouting, her family members and neighbours rushed to the spot with sticks and other agriculture tools. However, the bear fled from the spot after witnessing the armed villagers.

The villagers rushed the victim to the hospital where the doctors administered first aid.  Tension prevailed in coastal villages of Uddanam area, particularly at Yerramukkam, Pitali and Nalla Bodduru and other neighbouring villages.
