GUNTUR: Guntur District Collector K Sasidhar has directed the Guntur Municipal Corporation (GMC) officials to speed up road-widening and underground drainage works so as to complete them in time.
He reviewed the road widening and underground drainage works in the city on Wednesday.
He said the main roads of Amaravati Road, Ponnuru Road, Lalpuram Road, Chuttugunta Road and other roads are being widened in the city. He further reviewed the USD works and directed officials to complete them within the stipulated time as the citizens are dissatisfied with the delay.
He asked the officials to evolve a plan to complete the works in time coordinating well with the officials. He said the police should take proper steps to ensure hassle-free traffic with safety measures during the widening of main roads. GMC Commissioner Srikesh B Lathkar, SE Satyanarayana, Public Health Department SE Srinivasa Rao, R&B SE Madhavi Sukanya, Traffic Department DSP Ch Papa Rao and others participated.
