HYDERABAD: A division bench of the Hyderabad High Court on Thursday once again issued notices to the MLAs who defected from YSR Congress to ruling Telugu Desam Party, who included four ministers.

“Before coming into power all parties say that they abide by the Constitution and will not encourage defections. However, after coming to power, they forget the Constitution. Those who do not respect the Constitution are entering into the legislative bodies,” the bench remarked.

The bench made these remarks while dealing with a PIL by YSR Congress MLAs Alla Ramakrishna Reddy and Palaparthi David Raju seeking to declare the respondent YSR Congress MLAs and MPs who joined the ruling party in AP state as ‘ineligible’.
