KADAPA: A drunk man allegedly sexually assaulted an 80-year inmate of an old age ashram in Budwel town of Kadapa district. Though the incident took place on Friday, the incident came to light on Satruday after the victim's daughter lodged a complaint with the police.
The incident took place in an old age home in Kummarikottala of Budwel town. Budwel Urban superintendent of police Chalapati Naidu said the accused Siddaiah was highly inebriated when he entered the old age home when no other inmate was present except for the victim. The accused lives in a house beside the old age home.
Siddaiah found the elderly woman sleeping inside the ashram around 4.30 pm and allegedly sexually assaulted her.
On Saturday, when the victim's daughter visited the old age home, the victim narrated her about the sexual assault on her. Based on a complaint by the victim's daughter, Budwel police registered a case under Sections 376 and 448 against Siddaiah and investigation is on. Siddaiah is taken into custody, police said.
