7 TRS, 1 Congress MLAs have not disclosed PAN

In the pan-India survey, Telangana ranked 10th among the 26 parties whose MLAs/MPs have not disclosed PAN. At the helm was Kerala, where 33 MLAs have not disclosed the same.

HYDERABAD: As many as seven Telangana Rashtra Samithi MLAs and one Indian National Congress (INC) MLA in the state have not disclosed their PAN details in their poll affidavits as is mandated by the Election Commission of India, found a survey. The survey done by Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR) and National Election Watch (NEW) in their analysis of PAN details of 542 sitting Lok Sabha MPs and 4,086 MLAs found that 7 sitting MPs and 199 MLAs - across the country - have not declared their PAN.

As for the state, Dharmapuri MLA Koppula Eshwar, Vemulwada MLA Ramesh Chennameni, Shadnagar MLA Anjaiah Yelganamoni, Medak MLA Madhava Reddy Gari Padma, Narsapur MLA Chilumula Madan Reddy, Alair MLA Gongidi Sunitha and Bhupalpalee MLA Madhusudana Chary Sirikonda - all belonging to the TRS - have not disclosed their PAN details. The lone INC MLA is that of Dornakal, DS Reddy Naik. Out of the eight MLAs, four legislators had total declared assets of over Rs 1 crore. Vemulwada MLA was the richest of the lot with Rs 4.27 crore declared assets. The remaining four legislators had assets of nearly Rs 50 lakh or above, the ADR-NEW survey found.

Mizoram came second with 28, although in several north eastern states it is not mandatory to declare PAN details. According to ECI, every candidate willing to contest election to the State Legislature of Parliament have to submit certain documents to the returning officer.
