BANGALORE: Bangalore Former Director General & Inspector General of Police of the state, Shankar Bidari, who was removed from the post on Saturday applied for a 15-day-long leave.

He will take charge as the Chairman of Karnataka State Police Housing Corporation Ltd (KSPHC).

Following the debacle in the legal battle for the top cop’s job, Bidari was transferred to KSPHC. But Bidari, who is apparently upset over losing the police chief’s post following the High Court upholding CAT order and lambasting him for human rights violation while he headed STF, has applied leave.

According to sources, Bidari, who headed the state police force was not ready to continue with his new post. They added that CID DGP and the DGP of Fire and Emergency department were given priority. But, Bidari got neither of them.

“This might have made him upset and he is reluctant to work. As he is retiring in two months, rumours in the department is that Bidari will go on leave for the remaining days,” sources added. “I do not know whether I have been granted leave as it is Sunday. But, I am not assuming charge in KSPHC as I am on leave,” Bidari said.
