BANGALORE: Governor H R Bhardwaj said that he was ready to negotiate with the state government over the long-standing issue of the appointment of Lokayukta in Karnataka. He said here on Friday: “I have supported the government in every possible manner. Even now, I am ready to support the government, provided I get the right names.” On the High Court quashing the appointment of Upalokayukta, Bhardwaj added, “We had nominated the right person. Now that the court has found certain faults (in it), we are ready to work on them.”

The Governor exuded confidence on the government tackling the drought in state. On whether the issue was being politicised, he said: “District media correspondents have to collect information and tell us if it is so. I too am seeking additional information on the issue.”
