MYSORE: Forest officials have busted a tiger pelt smuggling racket in Dodda Harave forest of Periyapatna taluk on Friday morning. They arrested one Swamy and recovered a tiger pelt from him.  Two other accused escaped after firing at the forest personnel.

According to Swamy, the pelt was handed over to him by the two other accused Venkataiah and Abbi to sell. All are residents of Navilur of Periyapatna taluk. The case was handed over to the

Periyapatna  police.  The  police took into custody four others in connection with the incident.
