The ISD has plans to have its offices in all the six police ranges (Southern, Western, Eastern, Central, Northern and North Eastern ranges) of the state. With thr government’s nod, the offices would shorlty come up in Mysore, Mangalore, Davanagere, Belgaum and Gulbarga. All the zones would be headed by an officer of the rank of Superintendent of Police supported by Dy SPs, inspectors, sub-inspectors and constables. The ISD may rope in some local police for assistance. At present, the ISD sleuths are mostly dependant on the information passed on by Intelligence Bureau (IB) and state intelligence department.
