BANGALORE: Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda wondered why the PU lecturers were so adamant even after the government had met most of their demands. “It is unfortunate that they have boycotted evaluation... I appeal to lecturers to finish evaluation at the earliest,” he said.

Meanwhile, 8 out of 17 centres in city started evaluation on Saturday. 31.5 lakh answer scripts need to be evaluated; the notional loss is Rs 1.5 crore per day. Police has been deployed at 37 centres. Principal Secretary for Primary and Secondary Education G Kumar Naik did not rule out invoking ESMA to tide over the crisis.
