HASSAN: Former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy termed AICC president Sonia Gandhi’s visit to the Siddaganga Mutt to take part in the ‘Guru Vandana’ of seer Shivakumaraswami of being politically motivated.

He told reporters that Sonia had visited Karnataka only to sort out the differences among the senior state leaders and not to address the grievances of the drought-hit villagers. He said that Sonia was making futile efforts to bring the Congress to power in the state in the upcoming Assembly polls.

“Let us see how much grant the four Ministers representing state in the Union Government will bring to drought-hit areas,” Kumaraswamy  said. When asked about snap polls to the state Assembly, he brushed aside the chance.
