BANGALORE: The Lokayukta Special Court on Monday admitted a private case filed against Siruguppa MLA M S Somalingappa and directed the Lokayukta police to launch an investigation into the allegations and file a report by March 12.
The complainant, Eranna, a retired lecturer, had filed the case on February 1 accusing the MLA of amassing wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income. The MLA is said to be in possession of assets worth `63 lakh from sources that he had not declared in a list with Lokayukta. Judge N K Sudheendra Rao, who had reserved his orders on the admissibility of the case till Monday, admitted it and asked the police to proceed with investigation.
