BANGALORE: Notwithstanding the controversy of watching sleaze clippings inside the Legislative Assembly by BJP MLAs, the Assembly Secretariat plans to equip all its members with an iPad at a total cost of over Rs 1 crore.
Addressing the Media here on Friday, Assembly Speaker K G Bopaiah said that providing such gadgets to the members would improve their efficiency and help them serve people better.
The Speaker said that he authorized the Secretary of the Assembly to buy the equipment after holding discussions with the users (MLAs) themselves.
The Assembly consists of 225 members and it would cost Rs 1 crore to equip each legislator with an iPad.
