BANGALORE: Reacting to The New Indian Express’ report on Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda wanting to quit on moral grounds after three of his porn-tainted ministers refused to resign initially, Minister for Urban Development, Law and Parliamentary Affairs S Suresh Kumar said on Friday that the CM at no stage wanted to do so.

“There was no need for the chief minister to threaten to quit as there was consensus all through. The CM and the state Bharatiya Janata Party leadership collectively reviewed the situation and the three ministers offered to resign voluntarily. I was present in all the discussions that took place at various places,” Suresh Kumar said, in a written communication to Express.

Resident Editor: We stand by our report as it was based on concrete inputs.
