‘Bring back Lokayukta cops’

BANGALORE: Based on the Supreme Court’s recommendation, the National Committee for Protection of Natural Resources - Samaj Samudaya Parivartan Study (SPS) team - urged the Central Empowerment Committee to immediately reinstatement Jeevan Kumar Gaonkar as Additional DGP and Pranab Mohanty as IG, Lokayukta Police.

Both the officials were recently transferred. The SPS gave details of how officials with questionable integrity were replaced instead of Gaonkar and Mohanty. Speaking at a press conference here on Monday, founder of SPS S R Hiremath urged for the correction of the damage done to the Lokayukta Police and sought a CBI inquiry into two firms.
