CHIKMAGALUR: A girl working in the taluk panchayat office, who was stabbed by a lovelorn youth here on Saturday afternoon, died of profuse bleeding at the Malle Gowda General Hospital.
Nayana, 22, a resident of Tipunagar, was working as a computer operator at the Akshara Dasoha section of the taluk panchayat office here.
Nayana had got the computer operator’s job on the recommendation of the assailant, Subramanya, alias Subbu. Nayana had been working here on a daily wage basis for the last two years.
Subramanya, a resident of Ashraya Colony on the Bypass Road, has been running the Yuva.com computer office on Basavanahally main road, where Nayana had undergone training initially.
It is learnt that Subbu was angry with Nayana for spurning his advances.
On Saturday, Nayana was alone in the office as her colleagues had gone out for lunch. Seeing his chance, Subramanya barged into the office and stabbed Nayana in the neck several times and escaped.
Nayana was shifted to the hospital where doctors declared her brought dead. The town police station have registered a case and are on the look out for Subramanya, who is now absconding.
