BANGALORE: The HC on Tuesday set aside compulsory retirement orders issued to 10 civil and district judges based on a GO issued at the recommendation of then Chief Justice P D Dinakaran, and directed their reinstatement with consequential service benefits.
Petitioners Rudramuni and 12 others, sought quashing of the GO. They stated that no explanation was given to them and the procedure under Karnataka Civil Service Rules was not followed. Observing that the judges had been unceremoniously sent home, Justice Anand Byrareddy set aside the order.
