MANGALORE: More than a dozen projects, including a proposal to build an Airport in Karwar worth `11,904 crore, are in various planning stages for the coastal districts.

“The state government will begin land acquisition once Airport Authority of India (AAI) identifies land for Karwar Airport project, Director of Infrastructure development department K Ramesh revealed on Wednesday.

He said the remaining proposals pertained to roads (five proposals), development of minor ports (ten), upgradation of minor ports (three), construction of Marine bio-tech among others.

38 memoranda projecting an investment worth `1,506.33 crore were signed on the first day of Coastal Business Development Summit.
