SHIMOGA: The Governor should personally ensure that the Anti-cow Slaughter Bill gets the clearance of the President, demanded state BJP president K S Eshwarappa.
He said here on Thursdaythat five out of seven states have already passed the Bill and implemented the ban on cow slaughter. “The Bill has got clearance even in Congress-ruled states,” he added. He asserted that the Governor sending the Bill to the President, after it was approved by both the houses of the Legislature was anti-democratic.
He slammed the Centre’s decision to provide a 4.5 per cent sub-quota for Muslims within the current reservation of OBCs, adding that this will be unjust to other communities.
