BSY, Somanna bail plea hearing deferred

BANGALORE: The High Court on Monday adjourned hearing on the petition filed by former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, Housing Minister V Somanna and his wife Shylaja seeking anticipatory bail

BANGALORE: The High Court on Monday adjourned hearing on the petition filed by former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, Housing Minister V Somanna and his wife Shylaja seeking anticipatory bail in a case relating to the illegal denotification of 22 guntas of land in Naga Devanahalli in 2009, till January 12.

The police had filed the FIR against Yeddyurappa, Lingaiah, Somanna and Shylaja, following direction from the Lokayukta court to initiate investigation under sections 156(3) of CrPC, various sections under IPC, including 406 (criminal breach of trust), 420 (cheating) and 463 (forgery), and under section 13(1)(d) of Prevention of Corruption Act.

The complainant, Ravi Krishna Reddy, had alleged that Yeddyurappa denotified the land to trust owned by Shylaja.
