CHIKMAGALUR: A long cherished dream will be realised as the railway authorities are committed to complete the Kadur-Chikmagalur railway line by March and hand it over to the Commissioner of Railway Safety for certifying the feasibility of the track.
The track work that began a decade ago was impeded due to allocation of meagre funds in the railway budget every year.
After K H Muniyappa became the Minister of State for Railways at the Centre, the project works were expedited on 50:50 share basis between the Centre and the state.
MLA C T Ravi told Express that `125 crore was released by the Centre and the state and that railway officials were instructed to complete the works at the earliest.
He said that he had directed the railway officials to construct an overbridge near Hoskote for farmers.
