GULBARGA: The Gulbarga Bench Unit of the District Bar Association and the Advocates Bar Association of Gulbarga Circuit Bench expressed unhappiness at the filing of public interest litigation by a Bangalore-based advocate in the High Court.
The advocate had asked that the Gulbarga Circuit Bench of the HC be closed considering the fewer number of cases in it.
Gulbarga District Bar Association’s Gulbarga Circuit Bench Unit S G Math said that prior to the establishment of Gulbarga Circuit Bench, there were 9,810 cases of the districts coming under the jurisdiction of Gulbarga Circuit Bench. As on November 31, 2011, 14,029 cases were pending disposal in the Circuit Bench. Math said the number of cases in Dharwad Bench is high.
